This is my neighbor’s cat, Badger (not exactly a creative name !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ). One night last year, he ran in front of my car. With his tags and badly matted fur, I thought he was a lost pet and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . His owner must’ve listened when I told him to take better care of his fur, because now Badger’s got a lion cut.
A few times since then, I’ve seen Badger out walking the neighborhood. He lives around the block from me and his owner lets him outside. Normally he lets him in at night but the night I picked him up, his owner had fallen asleep before letting him back in—that’s why he was out after dark.
Lately though, Badger has decided he likes to come around when I’m messing with my car. Unloading the car in the garage after a road trip. Swapping wheels & tires. He just loves my garage.
Today after work I was in the driveway doing a post-gas station wash quick detail spray and tire shine, and there Badger was, waiting for me to pet him. He’s super friendly in spite of the not-that-friendly look I captured in this photo. He loves getting petted, but he keeps flopping over in the dirt when I pet him. Gotta keep that lion cut clean!
He probably just likes the car(s) anyway.

I studied for the NY bar at my buddy’s house in MD (and stayed there) in early 2001. I just spread my shit out on the floor and locked in 5 days a week. The cat from across the street, a tabby called Jasper, came over to visit me every day right around 2PM. I’d let him in, he’d patrol the house, sleep on one of by BARBRI books, then ask to be let out.

He’s still scrawny but I think he might just be old, and old cars can get scrawny. His current condition is lot better than last year though:

He does look like an elder.
Shaving a Cat? That couldn’t have been fun.

LOL!!!!!
We have a yellow one like that wanders up every now and then. He and my Rottweiler are real friendly and will just chill on the porch for hours.

It makes his head look so much bigger than his scrawny little body! I’m also not sure the little tuft of hair on the end of his tail was necessary.

My wife used to have a fuzzy orange cat. They’d have to get him shaved every summer like that too. He was a good boy. I miss Stumpy (he only had one hind leg).

My wife used to have a fuzzy orange cat. The vet would have to knock him out every summer to shave him like that.

Good lord!
My ex and I had to roll “Buddy” up in a moving blanket just to deal with Ear Mites. The Vet asked us to not come back..
(Edit.. Buddy was an 18lb Russian Blue jerk.)

Stumpy was a great cat ... But he was a little skitzoid too. He had a traumatic start. My wife found him hiding between the shed and my in-laws house has a teeny tiny kitten ... With one of his hind legs cut clean in half. They ended up having to amputate it, but he had a good long life.
